The Ashok Leyland on last Monday launched a new product named "BADA DOST", reinforcing it's offering in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) range.

It gives 3-seater walkthrough cabin and 80 HP (BS-IV engine). It also comes with a foldable backrest, a collapsible hand-brake, dual-tone dashboard, digital instrument cluster, and an option for AC. More in features, ergonomically positioned dash-mounted gear shift lever, dual-tone dashboard, and digital instrument cluster. The vehicle is equipped with power steering, which makes long trips a more pleasurable experience.

It has come with the latest BS-IV engines, there are two variant,

1. i3 (very good load-carrying capacity of 1,405kg and )

2. i4 (in this variant load carrying capacity is 1,860kg).

The Ashok Leyland company said in a release.

The prices of BADA DOST i3 (LS and LX)and i4 (LS and LX)strat from Rs 7.75 and 7.95 lakh and Rs 7.79 and 7.99lakh, respectively in ex-showroom. As per the company, the new products are customer-centric in technology and driver comfort, while being contemporary and futuristic.

The new in-house developed platform is a key part of our long-term LCV strategy aimed at positioning AL as a serious and significant player in the segment.”

He said that Bada Dost i3 and i4 are the first two vehicles being launched on the new platform codenamed Phoenix. “Our range will now be available in both right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive options, enabling us to look at international markets more aggressively. Plans are also on for the introduction of electric versions in due course,” Hinduja said.
