The Kerala Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) has just bought 65 Tata Nexon EV SUVs for Kerala's enforcement duties. These electric SUVs will be used by 65 units of the Safe Kerala project, which enforces motor vehicle rules, regulations, and road discipline. The state's MVD will rent the Tata Nexon EV from EESL, the government body that procures EVs for government use in the majority directly from automakers. It's going for a dry lease agreement. Thus the EVs will be provided without a driver. The contract's validity will be eight years, and Kerela MVD will give the full amount upfront. ESSL will set up a charging station at the office of all 65 Enforcement Units.
Tata Nexon Electric SUVs will be available in white color with the top end XZ trim. The Tata Nexon EV will appear along with heavy MVD branding. There will be an MVD logo on the different sides of the Nexon EV. With some more livery on the side of the car.
Besides enrobing the attire and equipment for enforcement activities, the Nexon EVs will also be fitted with enforcement-specific gadgets like radar speed sensors, cameras, etc. It's been stated. These vehicles will be used up to four passengers at a time; equipment will be installed in such a way to support the same.
