With the launch of MG Hector in the mid of the previous year, MG Motors stepped in in the Indian market. After healthy sales, around 2500-3500 units a month, MG launched a new car called MG ZS EV and a 6-seater Hector plus variant.

At the Auto Expo 2020, MG Motor India showcased their new off-road SUV called MG Gloster. MG is planning to launch Gloster in the time of Diwali Festivals.

When we look under the hood, we can find a big engine powered by a 2.0-liter twin turbocharger. MG Gloster to be launch with Petrol and Diesel both variants, and both have the option of manual and automatic transmission. The petrol variant produces 224PS of power at 5500rpm and 350Nm of torque at 4000rpm. Simultaneously, the diesel variant produces 218PS of power at 4000rpm and 480Nm of torque at 2400rpm. Both petrol and diesel manual variants will come with a 6-speed transmission, while the petrol automatic will come with an 8-speed torque converter, and diesel automatic will come with a 6-speed torque converter.

Looking from outside the car, It has massive 19-inch machine-cut wheels, increasing the ground clearance and serving the need for the off-road purpose of the vehicle. It is expected to come with a hexagonal grille and three slabs in it. It has sleek projector headlamps and Fogg lamps at the front side. It is not longer than just Toyota Fortuner but also longer than Ford Endeavour with it's the length of around 5 meters.

At the interior, Gloster's dash has a 12.3 inch HD touchscreen panel and an instrument cluster of 8 inches for the driver. It has a 12 speaker system, and It is also equipped with 64-color ambient lighting for better room feeling from inside. For comfort, MG Gloster will provide a 6-seat configuration, which will feature diamond-style stitching. Front ventilated seats(heated only) and three-zone climate control will also up the comfort inside the cabin.

In terms of tech specs, MG Gloster will be equipped with MG's SMART Tech., which will ensure OTA updates and Gloster may showcase a 5G-ready SIM. It will also be fitted with Autopark Assist feature, Adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, Front Collision Warning, Autonomous emergency braking, Blind spots detection, and Fatigue reminder system. It will be India's first Autonomous (LEVEL 1) premium SUV.

MG Gloster is expected to launch in the price range of 40 lakh to 50 lakh INR. According to Rajeev Chaba, head of MG Motors India, This SUV will be a low volume game, annually just 4000 to 5000 unit sales expected. However, it will help to build the brand strengthen position overall.
