Hyundai came with the all-electric SUV KONA to change the thinking of people about electric mobility. It has a thrilling driving experience with high acceleration over a long distance.
Under the hood section, a car carrying PMSM type motor which produces 136ps(max) of power and 40.27kgm(max) of torque. KONA comes with 4 driving modes: Sport, Eco, Eco+, and comfort. It has a Lithium-ion polymer battery which has a capacity of 39.2 kWh. It has a range of 452km per single charge as certified by ARAI. The battery can be charged by 3 different charging options: AC wall box charger, Portable charger, and DC quick charger. It takes approximately 6h10min to fully charge from 0% to 100% with AC charging, while with DC charging it only takes 57 mins to charge from 0% to 80% of full capacity.
In terms of exterior design, According to Hyundai, KONA has a bold exterior with sleek LED lighting and fine detailing. It has split type twin powerful LED headlamps with LED DRLs. R17 EV exclusive alloy Wheels and underbody designs are well optimized aerodynamically. It has a closed grille and an active air flap in the front bumper. The charging port is mounted at the left upper side of the front bumper, which has LEDs to show charging status and level of charge. Heated ORVM mounted on both sides which are electrically adjustable and foldable.
While looking at the back, there are LED taillight and rear bumper which are Aerodynamically shaped.
While looking inside the car, it has an intelligently placed button type shift-by-wire system and well designed bridge-type center console. On the dash 17.77cm touchscreen display available for all the information of your SUV and also features Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It has so many features such as a wireless phone charger, Electric parking brake, Lumber supported 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, only for driver option for air conditioning, smart electric sunroof with safety, front ventilated and heated seats, and pedal shifters for regenerative braking. And these all have been positioned to make the driving experience smoother and comfortable. According to Hyundai, the running cost of KONA is too low, approximately one-fifth of IC engine cars.
In safety measures, KONA's body is made of high-tensile strength steel, that keeps the passengers in a collision. It has 6 airbags(two in front, two curtains, side-impact on front seats). Also, Hyundai KONA added Virtual Engine Sound System(VESS) for pedestrian safety and ISOFIX at the rear seat for child safety.
