SUBSIDY UP TO 1,50,000 ON EVS | Automotive News | Auto Reporter

According to the Officials, the Delhi government will probably roll out a subsidy scheme under its newly launched electric vehicle policy.


The government's electric vehicle policy, launched last month. While launching the electric vehicle policy (EV Policy), chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the EV policy is aiming at registration of 5000 electric vehicles in the city in the upcoming five years.


Under the preview of this EV policy in Delhi, the local government will give incentives to purchase new vehicles.


According to some senior Government officers, A demonstration of the software used for distributing the subsidy was made by the ICICI Bank in the meeting with transport minister Kelash Gahlot.


Further, the government official said that the subsidy is expecting to get launched by next week. Under the EV policy, the government will give an incentive of up to Rs 30,000 on the purchase of two-wheelers, autos, e-rickshaws, and a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh will be provided for the purchase of an electric car.


The government official also said that the dealer would have to fill the buyer's details and the vehicle at the time of sale. After verification by concerned authorities, the buyers will get the amount within 48 hours in the bank account.


To process the subsidy at the time of sale, the dealer will have to be self-registered with the Delhi government's transport department.
