BMW COLLABORATION WITH TACTILE MOBILITY TO IMPROVE DETECTION OF ROAD SITUATION | Automotive News
Tactile Mobility (Israel's) said that its software would be installed in the BMW Group's next-generation Automotives coming in 2021.
The collaboration will equip BMW vehicles with the ability to inspect and analyze the road surface attributes under their tires and wheels eligible to detect road situations.
Tactile Mobility develops software that uses a vehicle's non-visual sensors, including wheel speed, wheel angle, RPM, and gear position to help smart and autonomous cars "feel" vehicle-road dynamics and road situations.
In October, Tactile Mobility said it secured $ 9 million in funding from a group of investors that included Porsche.
The collaboration between BMW and Tactile Mobility began through the BMW Startup Garage, the venture client unit of the BMW Group.
